Recently named a "Super Lawyers Rising Star" by New Jersey Monthly magazine for the second year in a row, associate John F. Gillick joined the firm in 2002 after having clerked for the Honorable Jack L. Lintner, a former Presiding Judge of New Jersey's Appellate Division. During his time with Martin Kane & Kuper, Mr. Gillick has concentrated on the litigation of personal injury, civil rights, and employment discrimination claims, and has tried over a dozen cases to jury. Mr. Gillick has also argued and won appeals before both the New Jersey Supreme Court and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and has been counsel of record on numerous published opinions.

In addition, Mr. Gillick currently serves as Secretary for the Middlesex County Bar Foundation, is a Trustee for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education, and sits on the Executive Board for the New Jersey State Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division. Mr. Gillick also serves as a Volunteer Lawyer for Justice for the Legal Services Foundation of Essex County and is a member of the New Jersey, Middlesex County, New Brunswick and American Bar Associations.

Mr. Gillick received his Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University in 2001, where he was Articles Editor for the Legislative Journal, President of the Irish American Law Students Association, a Senator of the Student Bar Association, and an intern for the New Jersey State Assembly's Democratic Office. As an undergraduate, he received dual Bachelor of Arts degrees from William Paterson University in English Literature and Secondary Education and was named Outstanding Senior in 1995 for having led the University's student newspaper to several national awards.
